Pause. Breathe. Hope. Heal.

Dear Reader! To make life easier for you, I wanted to give you this information in a couple different formats. You can either read this blog post, or click the link below to download the podcast and listen to the episode on the go.

First off, boundaries are for us, not for others.

If you’re feeling burnt out, stressed out, or overwhelmed, these are clear indicators that you need to set better boundaries in your life.

Looking at this through a Polyvagal lens, when you’re in Dorsal Vagal, you may find yourself fawning, people pleasing, or enmeshed with them.
When you’re in a more Sympathetic state, you may find yourself more rigid and guarded, and you may refuse to be vulnerable with others.
Whereas, when you’re in Ventral Vagal, you’ll feel safer and more social; you’ll have values and opinions that you articulate more clearly. You can say no to others when something doesn’t work for you, and not take it personally when other people say no to you.

This may shift depending on the situation or when you’re spending time with specific people. So, pay attention to your responses and reactions, and journal about what you see coming up for you.

As you finish reading this post, remember to take a moment to pause, breathe, hope, and heal.
