EMDR Intensives

Wondering if EMDR Intensives would be a good fit for you?

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing or (EMDR) is an 8-phase evidence-based, therapeutic modality that has helped many people heal from trauma. It works by using bi-lateral stimulation, this is where you move your eyes or tap your body in a specific pattern while processing traumatic memories. This helps the brain reprocess your adverse life experiences. You can read more about it here or here.

More than 30 positive controlled outcome studies have been done on EMDR therapy and organizations such as the World Health Organization recognized it as an effective form of treatment for trauma and other disturbing experiences.

You can do this work on a weekly basis and get really good results. EMDR Intensives simply allow you to set aside the focused time to do this important work. With a 3-hour EMDR Intensive, you are able to get a bit deeper and try to make progress on processing trauma that may have kept you stuck for a while.

Here at Oak and Stream Psychotherapy Clinic, you are able to work through your trauma with an EMDR certified therapist who will help you process at your own pace.

How It Works

After having your free 20-minute consultation, we will schedule a time for you to come in and have a 50-minute pre-consultation assessment. During this assessment, we will determine whether an EMDR Intensive would be a good therapeutic fit for you.

For those who are determined to be a good fit for the EMDR Intensives, you will be given a customized workbook to help you reflect, regulate, and reach your therapeutic goals.

We will then schedule your 3-hour EMDR Intensive. For those who want to work on several adverse experiences, additional intensives can be done.

You might be a good candidate for an EMDR Intensive if you want to process:
