Everyone has experienced trauma in some way, shape or form in their lives. Some are little “t” traumas like an injury that’s not life-threatening, the loss of a friend, a stressful move, a job change, a layoff, working for a difficult boss, or having a challenging teacher.

Whereas, some are big “T” traumas like sexual assault, abuse, neglect, divorce, infidelity, exposure to violence, discrimination, war, the pandemic, and natural disasters.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), is a therapy that helps your brain process the trauma you experienced, so the memory of that trauma does not feel as intense anymore.

Our memories cannot be erased. Good or bad, our memories are all a part of our life story. Yet, we can target our painful and stuck memories, and process them in order to get rid of the disturbance and distress that is attached to specific memories.

Before EMDR therapy you may find yourself easily triggered, caught in a cycle of using coping strategies that do not work, and holding negative beliefs about yourself.

You can access EMDR support in two ways:

  • You can incorporate EMDR into your regular weekly sessions.
  • You can book a 3-hour EMDR intensive.
