There are tons of qualified therapists out there, but it sometimes feels daunting trying to figure out where to start with your search.
When looking for a therapist, I would suggest breaking down your search into three simple steps. Who, where, and what.
Here is a simple checklist of the: ‘Who, Where, and What of finding the right therapist for you!
- What gender would you prefer your therapist to be?
- Is ethnicity important for me in a therapist?
- Do I want to work with someone who understands my culture?
- What language would I prefer to speak in my therapy sessions?
- What special training would I like my therapist to have?
- Would I prefer in-person, video conferencing, or phone therapy sessions?
- Do I have a good rapport with this therapist?
Feel free to download this free checklist and use it in your search for a therapist.
Also, remember to take a moment in your day to remind yourself to pause, breathe, hope, and heal.
